I LOVE HAWAII!

I just have to write a blog about how much I love Hawaii. I think I was meant to live here...after all I was born here. I am so grateful for the chance I have to be here and to be here at this time. I have met some wonderful people here and I love the island. I am glad that we are here for a few more years and I don't know what I will do when it is eventually time to leave this incredibly beautiful place. Here are some pictures showing how much I love it here!!

Ok so those pictures only show some cute kids having fun on the beach...here are a few scenery pictures to enjoy for those that don't live on the island.

Yes, and if you look closely on that second picture...that is the Black Pearl from the Pirates of the Caribeean movies. Just another reason to love being in Hawaii.

Really Bad at this Blog thing...

Well as you can see it has been 4 months since my last post. That is AWFUL!!! The bad thing is that so much has happened so I guess I will have to start catching up on it all. Some day I will aspire to be as wonderful as all you bloggers out there, but for now I will just try to figure it all out. :-)

Teagan's First Birthday!

The month o
f May brought us a last and a first. It was our baby's first birthday but the last one of our kids to celebrate a first birthday! :-) Since Teagan's birthday fell on a Sunday we just had a small party at home after church.

I thought I could be creative and make a birthday cake and I was actually really happy about how it turned out. (I won't take all the credit I did find a recipe for it.)

So we stripped him down and sang Happy Birthday!

He wasn't too sure what to think of birthday cake though. First of all he isn't into sweets much. He has certain things that he lik
es. So as you can see by his face he didn't know what to do with the cake at first
.

T
hen he started to get the hang of it but he never really picked up the cupcake and ate it. He more just pushed it around his tray making a really nice mess. :-)

So as you can see he didn't eat any of the cupcake. But this is a face of a child that had some good quality fun.

After we were done with cake, it was time for a bath and then back down to open presents. I think all the older kids were more excited about the presents then Teagan.

Just like most kiddos his age he was more interested in the wrapping paper and all the fun strings.

And the last picture of him with his loot. :-)

The Monster in the Broach House!

Well we have a monster who lives in our house. You might not believe me but it is true. This particular monster is extremely cute and cuddly, but a monster none the less. If you have the courage to see the monster you can keep on reading, but I warn you....the images might be a little disturbing (ok not really but it sounded good).

This is our little monster...aka Teagan Price Broach.

I know that he doesn't look scary but look at that face.
Deception and devious
ness written all over it.

Here is where the story gets crazy.
Once he became mobile nothing was sacred anymore.

First it started small he decided to climb on things.

Then started to climb higher on things.

Then into things.

Through things.

Up and out of things.
(Yes that is on top of the highchair tray!)

This particular moment I walked away for a second to get him food, and came back to see
him sitting on top of the tray!!! The next day the straps were put back into the highchair.

As you can see this little crazy kid keeps our house hopping all the time.
If things get quiet then you better start wondering where Teagan is.
I don't even have a picture of him climbing the stairs yet, only because every time he does
I am so scared that I run to get behind him instead of grabbing the camera.

So if you want to see a real live monster just come to the Broach house.
He is real!!!

Fun with leaves!

So we have this huge avocado tree in our front yard. The best part about the tree is when the avocados are ready to be picked. But at this time of year all we get from the tree is leaves...lots and lots of leaves. Not much fun when you rake the whole yard and the next day it looks like you did nothing at all. So instead of picking up the leaves I just rake them into a pile and let Kellen enjoy them.

This particular picture was really funny. Kellen had been playing in the leaves when all of a sudden he sits down and takes off his boot while saying, "I know you are in there stick. Get out of my boot!" Then of course when he was done talking the stick out of his boot he put it back on and went on playing.
When you don't have snow to make a snow angel what do you do? Well you make a leaf angel of course. Kellen has so much fun playing in the leaves as you can tell from these photos. It was a fun filled day of play and pictures.

This is my favorite picture from that day. I think it captures the pure joy on his face. He loves to play outside and loves to play in the leaves. It was a great time and I will cherish it always. I am so happy that I have this photo to remind me how such small things can bring such pure joy!

My first blog

Ok, so I have never done this before...I don't even scrapbook, but everyone else is doing it so I thought I would jump in. Everyone else makes it look so easy so I hope that I can get the hang of it and make it look cute. I am looking forward to sharing with family and friends the things our family enjoys.
